Dear Members,

Summer is in full swing, and we’re excited to share timely updates and opportunities to help you make the most of the season. First, you may have noticed our refreshed newsletter format — we hope it’s easier to navigate. Please send any feedback, suggestions, or topic ideas; your input helps us shape content that’s useful to your park and business.

Business across Florida and Alabama remains largely consistent with last year: some parks are up, some are down, but overall year-to-date performance is similar, with variation by region and park type. Waterfront and uniquely featured parks—especially those with waterparks or large pools—continue to perform well, while some Snowbird-focused properties experience the usual summer softening. Competition for leisure dollars is real—from hotels to cruises to international travel—so delivering exceptional, friction-free experiences is increasingly important. Every touchpoint, from first contact at the dealer through checkout at the park, influences whether a visitor becomes a lifelong camper or looks elsewhere next time.

These touchpoints extend far beyond the park gates. The entire RV experience matters: the quality of the unit, camper education on using components, maintenance and service, travel and road conditions, fuel prices, and more. It’s important that the industry collaborates to support one another and do everything possible to deliver the stress-free, distinctive, and FUN experience that RVing and camping can provide. With “FUN” being the key word.

As your association, we’re dedicated to supporting you with marketing, advocacy, and education to keep your park competitive and guest-focused. To that end, please join us for two practical, member-focused webinars designed to increase visibility and help you prepare for industry changes:

July 30 at 10:00 AM — “How the Camp Florida & Alabama App Helps RV’ers and Campers Find Your Park.” This demo will walk through app features, show how to customize your listing, and offer tips to boost visibility so more campers find and book your park.

August 13 at 10:00 AM — “GMI: The Coming Impact of Ground Monitoring Interrupters on Campgrounds and RV Parks.” Mike Sokol, a leading expert in RV electrical systems, will review the latest GMI developments, explain potential impacts for operators, and outline practical steps to prepare your park.

You’ll find full details on these sessions inside the newsletter; registration links will arrive in your inbox soon. We encourage you to attend, ask questions, and share the webinars with your team — these sessions are designed to be immediately applicable and to spark ideas you can implement right away.

Thank you for your continued support and for trusting us to represent and promote your park. We value your engagement — whether it’s attending events, sharing feedback, or contributing ideas — and look forward to working together to strengthen our industry and enhance the camping experience for all.

Sincerely,

Bobby Cornwell
