60 Years of Progress, Partnership, and Preservation
Founded sixty years ago, the Florida RV Parks and Campground Association was established by a small but determined group of campground owners who recognized the need for a unified voice to support, protect, and advance Florida’s growing outdoor hospitality industry. In the early years, the Association focused on collaboration, shared knowledge, and addressing common operational challenges faced by independently owned parks across the state.
1960s–1970s: Laying the Foundation
As RV travel surged in popularity, the Association became instrumental in creating industry standards, fostering communication among park owners, and advocating for fair regulations. These formative decades established the groundwork for cooperation, education, and legislative awareness that continue to define the Association today.
1980s–1990s: Growth and Advocacy
With rapid development across Florida, the Association expanded its role in state-level advocacy, ensuring campground and RV park interests were represented in regulatory and legislative discussions. Educational programs, annual conferences, and vendor partnerships were strengthened, providing members with resources to adapt to changing guest expectations and operational demands.
2000s: Professionalization and Modernization
As the RV industry entered a new era, the Association embraced professional development, marketing initiatives, and technological advancements. Enhanced training opportunities, improved communication channels, and stronger partnerships helped members remain competitive while preserving the unique character of Florida’s campgrounds.
2010s–Present: Resilience and Innovation
The Association continued to evolve through economic shifts, environmental challenges, and industry-wide change. By emphasizing leadership development, emergency preparedness, sustainability, and member engagement, the reinforced its role as a trusted resource and advocate. Regional involvement and volunteer leadership flourished, ensuring that the voices of parks across Florida were heard and supported.
Today, the Florida RV Parks and Campground Association proudly represents a diverse membership of parks, resorts, and industry partners.
